What?
‘Trek for Nature‘ is an initiative by Ecopurple, where a dedicated bunch of nature warriors step up to conserve nature’s pristine aura. One mountain at a time.
Why?
With more and more people finding an interest in treks, there lies a common threat to the natural ecosystems – the human footprint. While trekking isn’t a crime, one must be careful enough to leave no trace behind. Irresponsible hikers generate disturbing amount of waste and there are only a handful of communities/ organizations/ authorities who take up the initiative to clean that mess. Thus, with Trek for Nature, Ecopurple aims to take action and bring about an awareness. Our mountains deserve better, and we must ensure that.
How?
With a group of volunteers, we not only trek the trail but also clean the trail. It’s as simple as that. We focus on and enjoy the trek while we ascend. But as soon as we begin descending, that is when we start with the clean-up trek. We collect all the trash that was spotted while ascending and do our best to leave the trail cleaner than how we found it. The trash is then brought back to the city and sent for recycling, making sure that we end the initiative responsibly.
Only a responsible earthling such as you would be here and reading this. And it’s a humble call for all you eco-conscious people to lend a helping hand to Ecopurple’s ‘Trek for Nature’ initiative.
